What is dustless sanding?

When people choose dustless sanding and refinishing, the crew will use a sander with an attached vacuum tube that suctions the particles as they work. When complete, there’s very little mess to clean up. It’s very fast and convenient.

Dalton Discount Floors & More is a family-owned and operated licensed business that has been around for 23 years. We have strong community ties, especially with our owner living here for 50 years. Hardwood flooring care is uncomplicated

One of the biggest benefits of hardwood is that it lasts forever. The floors often look better with age! Care is routine and basic. You just need to dust mop regularly; polish periodically; wipe spills right away. keep pet nails trimmed and use mats and protective furniture pads when needed.

After about 10 years or so the floors might look excessively scratched, worn or dull. Unless there’s structural damage, there’s no need for replacement. A hardwood finishing will bring them back to their original luster.

Dustless sanding is a no-mess, no-fuss process. The traditional method of sanding leaves clouds of dust that get all over everything, into every knick-knack, light fixture, window sill, etc. This not is a time-consuming cleanup but also affects indoor air quality. When any dust is missed, it will exacerbate respiratory problems.

This is the process: First, we sand the floor down to the state of raw hardwood. That can mean as much as removing three layers. We then stain it with your desired color. Finally, we apply clear coats of polish.

Dustless vs sandless refinishing

These terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but they are very different. Sometimes scratches will be in the veneer, not the wood itself. When that’s the case, we’ll use a special buffer and then recoat. No sanding is necessary.
